Color on dark construction paper. Then paint the entire picture with a mixture of lots of salt and water. When the water dries, the picture will sparkle.

Mix a Package of Kool-Aid with 1 TBSP of warm water. Let the children paint with it and allow it to dry for 24 hours. Scratch N Sniff the paintings. Use various flavors of Kool-Aid for different smells.

Arrange different shaped items on dark construction paper so their silhouettes will look nice. Place in direct sunlight for a few hours. You will see the paper has faded around the objects.

Get a photo of the child blown up. The child can glue the photo on to a heavy cardboard backing. With adult assistance they can cut the photo into puzzle pieces. Put into a decorated box titled "I Love You to Pieces".
