Online Child Care Training Approved in Washington

Anyone, anywhere is welcome to enroll in one of our online child care classes. If your state does have a training approval process, that information is detailed below. Your state may not specifically approve trainings toward the required hours of professional development that you need each year. If so, you may use these classes! Please note that you may also use these class hours towards 120 hours needed for the CDA certificate.

Washington

• Classes are accepted and count towards the 10 hours of Continuing Education requirement in Washington.
  
  Effective April 1, 2010, the Department of Early Learning (DEL) took the Washington STARS Registry offline.
  
  Currently, Washington uses The Managed Education and Registry Information Tool (MERIT) as the statewide online training database for early learning professionals. It helps manage State Training and Registry System (STARS) training which is required for certain staff at licensed centers, family homes and school-age facilities.
• Classes Available: All of Child Care Lounge classes are available in Washington. View the directory of all online classes.
• Upon completion of a class, we will send you a certificate reflecting the class title, student name, hours of training, and date of completion.

If you would like credit on MERIT, you will need to complete the following form and send to DEL STARS:
• Continuing Education Proposal

PLEASE NOTE: You are also required to submit a copy of your certificate and a handout, brochure, etc. describing the training.
